Steve Peterson, 57, of Bensenville tragically passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at home. He was born on October 6, 1962 the son of proud parents Robert and Judith (Sturm) Peterson in Northlake, IL. He grew up in Northlake and went to Priviso West High School up until his family moved to unincorporated Bensenville where he attended York High School his senior year. In 1994, a beautiful brunette by the name of Crystal Knott caught his eye and he got involved in a love affair that would last almost a decade. In 1996, Crystal gave him the best gift of his life when she gave birth to his daughter and his best friend, Megan Nicole Peterson. Crystal sadly passed away in 2003 but Steve did everything he could to be there for his daughter in her formative years and they developed a very strong bond. Steve raised their daughter in Bensenville where she graduated from York High School, just like her father, in 2015. Her favorite memories are of her father taking her out to dinners and concerts whenever he had a chance. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed any activity outdoors that he could carry out any time his bad luck didn’t bring the rain that would often prevent him from doing as he wished. He made the best of his time though being there for his daughter and his grandchildren. He was a devoted and nurturing provider who will forever be missed.
He is survived by his daughter: Megan Nicole Peterson; his 3 step-daughters: Nikki (Bill) Weiland, Michelle Kullas, and Karriann Kullas; his granddaughter: Ava Weiland; his 3 grandsons: Tyler Weiland, Jackson Weiland, and AJ Kullas, his mother: Judith Peterson; his ex-wife: Margaret Peterson; his sister: Susanne (Christopher) Nolan; his 2 brothers: James (Valerie) Peterson and Richard Peterson; his neice: Melissa Hauck; and his nephew: Alex Hauck; as well as many other family members and friends who will never forget his impact on their lives.
He is preceded in death by his Father: Robert Peterson and his significant other: Crystal Knott.
