Russell James Gadeke, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 8:26 AM. Russell was born on January 4, 1935 to the late John Gadeke, and Hannah Thoresen.
Russell met the love of his life Marion, and on August 2, 1958 the two were joined in holy matrimony at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chicago, IL. Russell was a hard working tool and die maker for different companies throughout the years before retiring in 2006. He was a man of many hobbies and talents, Russell was a past Master at the Old Glory Lodge, Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, 32nd Degree Mason, Past President of the S.A.M. #148, Past President of the Wizards Club of Chicago, a member of the Windy City Harmonica Club, and finally he loved spending his time as Ho-Ho the Magic Clown.
Russell is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Marion; three children, Paul (Diane) Gadeke, Suzanne (Robbie) Levensbaum, and Donna; a granddaughter Candice (Kevin) West); and three great grandchildren, Conor, James, and Patrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Weldon “Buddy” Gadeke; and two sisters, Pearl and Dolores Mathies.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2020 at GEILS FUNERAL HOME 180 South York Rd, Bensenville, IL 60106, from 3:00PM until 7:00PM. A Funeral Service is scheduled for the following morning Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10:00AM at GEILS FUNERAL HOME followed by a burial at Mt. Emblem Cemetery.
