Ralph W. Kiesling, husband of Marilyn (Rusty) Kiesling of Algonquin, IL passed away Thursday, Oct 31st 2019 at home with family. He was born May 28th, 1927 in Chicago, IL, son of Albert Kiesling and Eda Harvey Kiesling.
Ralph was raised and educated in the Chicago area. He enlisted in the US Navy during WWII. There, he served on four aircraft carriers. He so enjoyed sailing, that after his discharge, he joined the Merchant Marine sailing the Great Lakes on ore boats. While on seasonal break, he met Rusty, who was to become his wife for the next 67 years. They had five children, who gave them 10 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, and 7 great grandchildren. Ralph worked many jobs and continued his education settling on data processing as his career. He retired from Xerox Corp. as a systems consultant. Wanting to get away from the cold Chicago winters, he moved to Arizona. At the time of his death, he had returned to Illinois to spend time with his children and family there.
He is survived by Marilyn Kiesling, his wife, 5 children, Sherry, Dana (Rose), Karen (Fred), Donna (Gary), Terry (Sean), 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
Preceding him in death are 2 grandchildren , both parents, Albert and Eda, brother Eugene , and brothers in law Francis and Lavaine.
Friends may visit Mon. Nov. 11th from 5-9pm at Geils funeral home, 180 S. York Rd, Bensenville, IL.
