Marcelino Garza 80, of Wood Dale passed away Monday. November 16, 2020 at home surrounded by those who love him the most. He was born in Mexico on June 2, 1940 the son of Jose and Anita Garza. It was in Mexico where he grew up and when he was a young man, it was there he met the love of his life, Elisa. On March 16, 1963, he made her the lucky Mrs. Garza. Shortly after, the two migrated to the Chicagoland area in 1964. It was a house in Bensenville where they started their family and raised their six loving children. He is the providing, loving, and nurturing patriarch of four generations whose tradition of love and family will live on in the hearts of the family he raised.
He is survived by his two loving daughters: Susana (Miguel) Garza and Miry (Antonio) De Luna; his four devoted sons: Sam (Terie) Garza, Juan (Concha) Garza, JR (Adrianna) Garza, and Jaime (Zintia) Garza; his thirteen cherished grandchildren; three precious great grandchildren; his dear brother: Clemente Garza, and his 2 beloved sisters: Hilda Leaños and Francisca Chapa; as well as other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elisa just seven days before he passed; his parents; his grandson, Miguel “Papucho” Garza; his granddaughter, Ashley Garza, and his late sister, Rafaela Garza.
A visitation will take place at Geils Funeral Home, 260 W Irving Park Rd, Wood Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with the funeral service taking place at 5:00 PM.
