Flor Longsworth, 81, of Northlake, IL and formerly of Bensenville, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. She was born on July 13, 1939 the daughter of Patricio and Paula (Guerra) Franklin in Belize. It was there she grew up and graduated high school. She met the love of her life, Sydney Longsworth, whom she later married. They started a family in Belize and she gave birth to eight wonderful children. It was in 1984 that they moved to the US. They moved around from Franklin Park, Bensenville, and ultimately settled in Northlake, IL. They continued to raise their family and live the good life. She was focused on two things in life…her family and her love of gardening. Sydney passed away on July 26, 2015 and after five long years without her husband and best friend, she has finally been reunited. She was the loving and nurturing matriarch of four generations who will forever be missed and remembered.
She is survived by her 5 daughters: Martha Longsworth, Rose (Patrick) Burn, Aminda (Manohar) Gandham, Flor Longsworth, and Dawn Longsworth; her 3 sons: Richard (Rosa) Longsworth, Howell Longsworth, and Lance (Georgia) Longsworth; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and, of course her canine companion, Puck as well as various other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A wake will be held at Geils Funeral Home, 180 S York Rd, Bensenville, IL 60106 on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 3 to 7 PM. Due to COVID capacity restrictions at the church, the funeral mass and interment will both be private for the family on Monday, August 24, 2020.
