Edna Mikusch, 98, of Bensenville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2020. She was born on March 27, 1922 the daughter of Henry and Nettie (Petty) Guinn in Bowie, TX and was raised in Texas. It was there she eventually met the love of her life, William Mikusch, while he was stationed nearby. He made her the lucky Mrs Edna Mikusch on May 31, 1943. They settled in Bensenville in 1958 and that is where their children grew up. William tragically passed in 1985, but not before blessing her with a family of 5 children and many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She was a nurturing matriarch of five generations who will be missed by many.
She is survived by her two daughters: Jean (Richard) DeHahn and Terry (John) Jacobs; her two sons: John (Penny) Mikusch and Gary Mikusch; nine grandchildren: Rick, Chris, Ryan, Kevin, Allison, Heather, Jeffrey, Sara, and Kristin; her fifteen great-grandchildren: Will, Cameron, Kristi, Sydni, Jenny, Kaylin, Kylyn, Henry, Mack, Brayden, Brecklyn, Cole, Haley, Olivia, and Adrian; three great great-grandchildren: Hayleigh, Adeline, and Linkin; her sister: Kathryn Gardner; and her two sisters-in-law: Nancy Guinn and Doris Guinn; as well as many other family members and her friends in the congregation of the First United Methodist Church of Bensenville.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her son, William; her parents; and 8 siblings.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 12 Noon and a funeral service following at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 328 S Church St, Bensenville, IL 60106. Masks will be required by the church and the CDC requires us to not have more than 50 people inside the churh at any given time.
