Donna Coons, 59, of Bensenville passed away on January 24, 2021. She was born on November 1, 1961 in Elgin IL, daughter of Jeannette Strack and Thomas M Thompson. She worked at the corporate office for McDonalds where she met her loving husband Douglas in 1985. They then moved to Bensenville, settled down and started a wonderful family. Her passion was working for the Zion Lutheran Church as an active secretary. Donna was a big time Chicago Cubs fan. So much so that her daughter Dylin, wrote her name directly on the wall at Wriggly field the day the Chicago Cubs won the world series. Her name is on the wall till this day.
Donna is survived by her Loving husband; Douglas Coons and her two dear daughters Dylin Coons and Dana Coons; Her two sisters: Jeaneen Schlie, and Faith (Michal) Liedberg, and brother Edison (Bonny) Blake, sister in law Barbara Thompson, as well as many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her dear parents and her two brothers; Darryl and Thomas K Thompson; mother and father in law Doris and Bert Coons.
A visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 865 S. Church Rd, Bensenville IL, 60160 on Friday, January 29, 2021 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will take place at Zion Lutheran Church 865 S. Church Rd, Bensenville IL, 60160 Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM with a short gathering proceeding beginning at 9:30 AM, with burial following directly after.
