Alberto Rodriguez-Ponce, 68, of Chicago passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020. He was born on December 27, 1951 in Peru the son of Alberto and Elena Rodriguez-Ponce. He lived his childhood in Peru until he eventually migrated to the United States in 1978. It was in the US that he met the love of his life, Patria Suazo in 1994 and in 1995 he made her the beautiful blushing bride and the lucky Mrs. Rodriguez. He had a daughter and Patria had a son and two daughters and they were a loving family who lived their lives in Chicago. Alberto had a Youtube channel where he would sing. He always considered himself somewhat of a “Catante Fabuloso”. He and Patria also had 7 grandchildren. He is the patriarch of three generations and his love and support will be forever remembered and honored.
He is survived by his devoted wife: Patria Rodriguez; his two beautiful daughters: Patricia (Dominick) Olejnik and Annette (Frankie Santiago) Gomez; his loving son: Anthony Gomez; his 7 precious grandchildren: Noah Matrinez, Edward Reyes, Kendry Santiago, Yisel and Jaxon Gomez, Clark and Mary Frances Jerez; his dear brother: Carlos Rodriguez; and his adoring sister: Nora Rodriguez; as well as many other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his late parents and sister, Alycia Rodriguez as well as his cheristed daughter, Michelle Rodriguez.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Geils Funeral Home, 180 S York Rd, Bensenville, IL 60106 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will take place the following morning, Friday, December 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM, also at Geils Funeral Home in Bensenville. Immediately following the funeral service, we will process to Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL for him to be placed in his place of final rest. Arrangements handled by Geils Funeral Home.
