Al “Coach O” Ostrowski, age 83, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Alden Courts of Huntley, under the exceptional care of Suncrest Hospice. He was born on August 8, 1937 the son of Alfred and Anne Ostrowski.
He touched and influenced many lives in his 30 plus years as a respected educator and coach. He taught and coached basketball, bowling and football at Fenton High School. He was even placed in the coaching hall of fame by legendary Duke coach, Coach K who Al coached as a kid. He was an accomplished bowler and a sports enthusiast.
In 1958, on a blind date, he met the love of his life, Carol DiCaro. On April 30, 1960 he made her the beautiful, blushing bride she was born to be and she became the lucky Mrs. Ostrowski. They spent 60 amazing years together and built many memories that will be cherished forever.
He was survived by his loving wife: Carole (DiCaro) Ostrowski; his devoted son: Keith; his dear sister: Judy (Dan) Pugh; and his extremely talented sister-in-law: Judy (and her late husband, Jim) Kapugi; as well as may nieces, nephews, other family, students, co-workers, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents. and his late brother, Gary Ostrowski.
